ABOUT
DANSTOCK
DANSTOCK is the vision of Dan Stock, a longtime member of
Chicago’s music scene who lost his battle with melanoma.
Stock hoped to use his art
form to gather like-minded people who want to help find a cure for this disease
that affects so many people. Stock performed in the band, Bruiser, and was a producer at Uptown Recording, where he helped dozens of bands create
albums for the local music scene. In addition to his work, Dan was a huge sports
fan, a great friend with a loud, infectious laugh and most importantly, a
loving husband and father to his wife Angie and their five-year-old daughter,
Charlie. Today, Angie and friends continue to keep Dan's vision alive. For more information visit DANSTOCK at http://danstockbenefit.blogspot.com.
ABOUT THE
LURIE CANCER CENTER
The Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern
University is committed to being a national leader in the battle to overcome
cancer. To this end, the Lurie Cancer
Center is dedicated to scientific discovery, advancing medical knowledge,
providing compassionate, state-of-the-art cancer care, and training the next
generation of clinicians and scientists.
The cancer center was first established at Northwestern University in
1974. In 1991, the center was dedicated as the
Robert H. Lurie Cancer Center of Northwestern University through a gift of endowment
from Ann and Robert H. Lurie. The
center’s title was modified in 1998, when the National Cancer Institute (NCI)
awarded the Lurie Cancer Center the highly competitive
"comprehensive" designation—reflecting the center's dedication to the
highest standards of cancer research, patient care, education, and community
outreach. For more information visit: http://cancer.northwestern.edu
